Hello everyone, it's nice to see so many people joining the Brisbane chat room. I've been here for a while now and it's always great to meet new people. Has anyone got any favourite spots in the city they'd like to share? I'm always looking for new places to visit.

Hi Joan and all, lovely to see the community growing. I'm quite fond of the New Farm Park. It's perfect for a picnic or just to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery. The Powerhouse nearby is also a great spot for some culture and entertainment. What about you all? Any other hidden gems in Brisbane you'd like to recommend?

Hello Joan, Lynelle and everyone! It's wonderful to be part of this lively group. I haven't been to Brisbane yet, but it's on my list! I've heard a lot about the South Bank Parklands and its stunning river views. I'm also intrigued by the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, as I would love to see koalas up close. I'd appreciate any advice on these spots or any other suggestions. It's always exciting to learn from locals and frequent visitors!

Hi Yasuko, you've made excellent choices! South Bank Parklands is a must-visit, it's a vibrant place with beautiful views of the city and river. You can even take a dip in the man-made beach there. Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary is another great choice, it's one of the best places to interact with koalas and learn about Australian wildlife. You might also want to check out the Queensland Art Gallery and Gallery of Modern Art (QAGOMA), if you're into art. It's located just across the river from the parklands. And don't forget to try the local food and coffee scene, Brisbane has some great cafes and restaurants!

Hello everyone! JY here from Oakland, California. I've been part of this wonderful group for a while and always enjoy hearing about your adventures in Brisbane. I haven't had the pleasure of visiting yet, but it's definitely on my bucket list. Yasuko, your plans sound wonderful - who can resist the allure of koalas, right? I've also heard great things about the Brisbane Botanic Gardens at Mt Coot-tha. They say the view from the lookout is fantastic, and the gardens themselves are a sight to behold. If anyone has experiences or tips about that, I'd love to hear them. Looking forward to hearing more about the beautiful city of Brisbane!
